Merry Christmas From The Hawkins Family

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family! In celebration of getting my tree early and all my cards done and sent, here is probably my final blog post for the year, unless of course I decide to do another one!

Since my last post, my husband, with a little help from a friend, managed to bring home a beautiful full tree for the kids and I to decorate. My husband told me if it hadn't been for our friend, who dragged it through the woods for a few miles, we wouldn't have one, so thank you Eric, and thank you Tracy for loaning us his time and energy. At any rate, even though I had cleaned the house, windows, and carpet in preparation for this event, I still managed to end up  with more cleaning before it could be brought in. I have no idea how it gets so messy, seriously, its amazing the amount of things that can pile up in a short time.

Since I KNOW everyone wants to see the tree, here it is.

The Tree before.......

As you will notice in the background, my pile of ornaments and decorations are forlornly sitting on the couch waiting for the tree to be trimmed and set. I could hear them calling to me.."tree... tree...tree...". Just kidding, ornaments don't talk, silly people! It only took 20 minutes or so to get it all ready and off we went. After stringing the lights,  Alyssa and I took turns finding places for all the ornaments I had collected over the years. It was actually alot of fun, and we had a place for every ornament. I used to collect one for each of the kids, but when you don't get a tree every year sometimes its hit and miss, I was just glad I managed to find the Babies First Christmas ones.

The tree after....

Okay so we got the tree up and I decided this year EVERYTHING was going out, and I mean Everything. I haven't decorated this much in years and it was a blast, although I think at a certain point my husband was saying, "are you done yet?", and Im like "uhhh...NO". I worked on it the rest of that day, and then some the next day, and then some the next day...you get the picture. I think I was bordering on obsessed. Lets just say it is a good thing I ran out of stuff to put out, or I might still be decorating. After my husband came home and saw what I had done, he proceeded to make a new word to describe my decorating attempts "hick-lectic". For those of you who don't know what this means, join the club, the only part I actually caught was the "Hick" part, which I assure you did not earn him any points. I think if you look up "hick" then "eclectic" and put the two definitions together you will get it.

Tree and sitting area.

Here is another picture from a different angle, or at least I hope so, as I seem to be having a technology dysfunctional moment at this time.....

Another view....

So I totally decked out the place and proceeded to help Winter make a wreath for the front door. I have only made one other wreath...ever...so we decided to use a metal hanger form, good thing too or it never would have got done. Here are a couple pictures.....

A work in progress...

It didn't really take that long and I think she did a wonderful job, and Im not just saying that because Im her mom!

Finished wreath...

So we are all done for the moment and breathing a collective sigh of relief, not sure if this will happen next year but Im looking forward to the Irish and Australian Ornaments for next year. Come to think of it, I may have too much on the tree right now as its starting to lean forward and my husband is positive its from all the weight. Maybe I will have to send some ornaments to my daughter so we can both have leaning trees:)
Merry Christmas!

Tis the Season....

So..its that time of year again, Christmas Carols and Christmas Programs, tinsel, lights, cards and of course piles of ornaments ready to go on that ever elusive "perfect" full bodied, evergreen tree. Typically, our family tradition has been to wait until the day before Christmas to set up and trim the tree and hurriedly get it decorated without staying up until 2 in the morning. This year, I dug in my heals and said No! I want a tree earlier than normal, not at the last minute.

My pile of Christmas ornaments

My husband , being the wonderful husband he is, ventured out to the wilderness for a total of about 4 hours over the course of 2 days seeking *THE* tree. We all seem to have differing requirements for said tree, but we can all agree on at least one thing, it has to be fuller than lasts years. Since I happened to pick last years tree, I was rather devastated that no one appreciated my previous effort, although I would be the first one to admit that I was only willing to venture out about 20 feet from the house, hence the scrawny tree. My friends all know me as someone who instantly turns into a homebody by just adding a little cold weather and snow, so just the fact that I was even willing to walk outside last year and get a tree was a major milestone in my usual Winter routine.

So now that we are in this holding pattern waiting for a tree,  I have decided I really need to get my Christmas Cards done or in the very least get them started, as Im sure everyone would enjoy getting them before Christmas at least once in a blue moon. To help me along in my endeavor are my 2 sweet daughters and this awesome 80 card, Make It Yourself set,  complete with everything needed, just  provide the adhesive.

Christmas Card Set

I dont have alot of time this year, so I thought this would be a good way to get it all done and still have a homemade touch. After 2 hours of cleaning off the table, and finding all my assorted scissors, markers, glue and etc. I was ready to go to work. Needless to say, I did not get one single card done. Turns out there were several other things that needed my immediate attention, add to that a run to the post office and store and by the time I got home I was worn out. Being a homebody during the Winter does have its draw backs, since my days consist of sitting by the warm fire in my pajamas,  homeschooling the kids,  I do believe that my muscles are becoming useless.  I am hoping to get some cards done by Saturday, in the mail and on the way to their final destinations in a timely manner.

This year has been pretty much the same as previous years, too much to do, and what seems like not enough time to do it. It is so easy to get overwhelmed and feel like nothing is getting done, or getting done the *right* way. Occasionally I seem to forget the reason I celebrate personally and our family collectively. If I'm truthful with myself though, its not about when I get a tree, when I get the cards done or what I get or what I give, its all about what God gave us, a perfect gift, the gift of his only Son. So while I panic over trees, cards and finances, I will push it aside and remember what My God did for me and for the world on that first Christmas morning, and I will pray that others will also remember, the perfect gift given on that day so long ago.
God Bless you always and Merry Christmas!

A Change Of Pace....

The week before last, the children started resisting our typical homeschool day, with groans and feet dragging. This year has been going so well, that it took me slightly by surprise that they would suddenly begin to debate the usefulness of Fractions and Vocabulary and Bible Study. By the end of that particular week, I was frustrated and so were they, so I , in my infinite wisdom, decided without any forewarning, to "do something different". I thought about it all weekend, talked about it with several people and came up with a plan to make the little twirps "grateful" for all those worksheets and spelling tests. Little did I know,  by the end of this school week,  "I" would be even more grateful then they were.
The week started out typical enough, with our usual Bible study time, and after that,  there was little resemblance to worksheets or your normal school type of work. Monday we did "Property Management and Design" this is a fancy  name for splitting wood and stacking it. Talk about hard work! I must be really out of shape because by the time we were done I was ready to take a nap...I suddenly had a little bit more compassion for my kids who have to stack wood and my husband who has to split it. I'm typically wandering around talking about how much I do, however its not near as physically draining as carrying and stacking wood. Good thing I have teenage boys to help out.
On Tuesday we learned about " Wild Game Processing and packaging" that stands for cutting up the elk and putting it in the fridge. It can also be Home Economics, but for my purposes I wanted a more professional term. We only process wild game once a year, unless I can talk my husband into taking it to the Banderobs, and usually it is a deer, so its really hard to remember how to cut them up. After many many hours of cutting, wrapping, hand cramps, back aches, and tears we FINALLY finished. That was the LONGEST school day ever, and not one I would like to repeat anytime soon.
The rest of the week was a little more mellow, we learned "organizational skills"(that means we cleaned the house), they learned the art of "Laving" ( that means laundry), and then on test day, which is usually a Friday , we continued practicing what we had learned that week.
The whole week I was hoping I would make the kids more grateful for our typical homeschool day and I don't know if I accomplished that, but  I DO know that I am more grateful for it and will do alot less whining about it in the future, hopefully they will to. By the end of the week I was totally exhausted and absolutely thrilled to have just gotten through it. Im not so sure we will do that again for a while, even though I know it was very good for us to be able to accomplish what we did. For now though, if you know of any big extravagant terms for things you would call chores, let me know, Im always on the lookout for suggestions

Homeschooling for the hopeless..The adventure continues....

Thank goodness for one of my FAVORITE home school groups on Facebook! Without them I would be relegated to actually WRITING everything down that the kids are doing this year. Don't get me wrong, writing, with a pencil/pen and paper, is a skill everyone should learn, but lets face it, in this day and age of technology its so much faster to simply type it into a software program, set it to print and Viola! instant report cards or whatever your mind can imagine. If I had to write down everything we are doing this year, Im certain nothing would get done. In the past month, since we started our school year, I have managed to keep better track of lessons and grades and assignments then ever before, all thanks to a  free computer program called "Homeschool Tracker".
One of my biggest failings as a homeschooler is not keeping accurate records and with this little piece of awesomeness, its easy. Just pick a subject add a description, put in the score and time and your good to go! My next biggest failing is not being consistent, it seems no matter what, life happens, and with our family it almost always manages to derail us from our ultimate goal of finishing out the year with a good record of learning, or in the very least, something to show for it. This program also helps me to be consistant because its always there and I can see the schedule and say "wow, forgot about that one, glad I entered that in last week". If your interest is piqued, take a look, it will definitely  be worth your while.
Our first month has been rife with small setbacks and I am thankful that they aren't big ones. I scheduled everything so tight it actually squeaks if you listen close. Fortunately, we have managed to follow my schedule without to many issues, and although we have dropped Spanish,  for lack of interest,  I'm pretty sure we will try again at some other time or maybe try French. The only other thing I have done differently this year is the heavy reliance on Netflix streaming videos and rentals for educational material. If you have never looked at Netflix as a source for educational videos, you should try it some time. Occasionally  the information will be biased toward a world view that is different than mine, however those are few as I am very selective about what we watch. An example of our VRS (that's short for "Video Reliance Syndrome"),  we recently watched The Last of the Mohicans. Now I guess you are wondering, what possible educational purpose could that have. Well let me tell you, first off,  its a classic written by James Fenimore Cooper. Now as much as I appreciate the classics, sometimes they are darn near impossible to read because of all the humongous words. All you have to do is read the first chapter to realize the authors back then have something we don't seem to have now, a large vocabulary. Even though the movie is more recent then the novel, you can actually follow along without having to have a Masters in english literature. This is very appealing to me and alot more understandable to my young audience. One of the biggest reasons we watched it is we are currently studying that time period in history and I want them to enjoy learning about it. I know its mainly entertainment, but you can get a real sense of what it may have been like back then in a very graphic way.
As you can see, even entertaining movies can be educational.......at least that's what I keep telling myself and my kids, and anyone who asks me "so what are you doing this year to educate your children?".

Home Schooling This year

A new homeschooling year is about to begin, and once again, I seem to be behind on scheduling and deciding what we will be doing. I started a couple months ago by talking to a friend of mine, but as soon as I start to pull things out to look them over , I get "distracted" and find myself somewhere else not even close to where I started. I know I am easily distracted so it takes an extra effort to get me back on track, which is, hopefully, what I will try to accomplish over the next week or so. Since  I am not a very good schedule person,  I have to try harder to be better, but it just eludes me most of the time.
One of the bigger decisions I will be making this year, is what time will I start. I have found that there are no hard fast rules for this, which means if you want to start in the morning great, if you would rather start in the afternoon, that's okay also. I'm pretty sure we will start sometime in the morning, because by the time afternoon rolls around, no one really wants to do anything anyway. Well, actually, they don't really seem to want to do anything at anytime, but that is besides the point, because they ARE going to do something if I have to tie them to the chairs :)

This is how our typical morning goes:
Me: Time to get up kids, we have chores and things to get done!
15 minutes later...
Me: Come on kids, it REALLY is time to get out of bed, I know its cold, but we still have things to get done today...
15 minutes later.....
Me: Come on guys, don't make me come in there again....
15 minutes later.....
Me: That is it!!! I'm bringing in the water gun if you guys don't get out of bed right now!!!!!!
15 minutes later....
And it goes on and on for about an hour or so...
I am thinking I may need to find another way to get them up...

As I said before, I had a couple discussions with a friend about it, and she gave me some good ideas for my homeschool plan. The first thing I did was, ask the kids what they would like to learn about this year. BIG MISTAKE! My children of course said "OH man, we have to have school this year???" To which I replied, YES, whether you like it or not! After several minutes of debating this point they all concluded that they would like to learn a foreign language. I found a really cool FREE online language course that they could all do, however they all managed to pick different languages, go figure. We will just have to wait and see how that one goes.

Here is the link for the free online language course. They have French, Italian, German and Spanish.  BBC Steps Languages

Well, that's about it really, we have Bible, Chemistry, American History, Math,  and Geography all planned, and I use that term loosely,  with a little bit of a twist to each one, since I recently discovered these things called "Lap Books".  I have all the materials for these, so they will definitely be in the mix this year, and I think the kids will like doing them.

And here is some information on Lap Books: Lap Book Information
There were over 450,000 hits on Google for Lap Books, I just picked one.

So this is my home-school schedule, subject to change without a moments notice, because I am, after all, a women:)

Happy Fourth Of July From Idaho

This year we were invited to celebrate Independence Day with several other families from our church. Now usually when you think of a church outing you would think nice, mellow people, everyone relaxing, kids playing quietly, maybe some hymn music playing in the background. Not so with our little group of party goers! The email I received stated this:

Happy 4th of July,

Just a couple of things in preparation for our celebration this afternoon.
  1. Parking... please drive on in to the house, unload, and then either you, I or John will take your vehicle back up the hill and park on the taxiway.  The trail down to the house has been trimmed, so its not quite like a jungle.  Consider it your very infrequent opportunity to enjoy valet parking .
  2. We intend on celebrating our liberty by exercising our 2nd amendment rights to own and bear arms.  We will have a range of sorts set up away from things... so bring your firearms that you are itching to shoot... ammo would be good too.
  3. Fireworks.  Feel free to bring fireworks if you would like.  When it is about dark we will restrain the children... with force if necessary... and combine our forces for a firework show!!
We look forward to celebrating with you!!

Soooo, with these guidelines in mind, we loaded the Suburban and went on our way to what was sure to be an awesome party, loaded with food and fun. Instead of writing about it though,  I am piling on the pictures and yes, some videos of the action. Hope everyone had a great 4th, I know we did

And then, let the shooting begin!

And then there were fireworks, nothing like a little total chaos to end the day !
The children ran around lighting everything they could get their hands on.

I have lots and lots of pictures of the action and want to thank the
Primers for having us out to celebrate with them, and on that note,
Happy Independence Day America !!!!!
P.S. I will be uploading videos to Facebook in the near future so keep and eye for that!

The Saga of The Never-ending Project.....Part 1

Ever feel like what should have been a quick and easy project has turned into something else?? Well thats whats been going on at my house for the past couple months. In March, despite several warnings that "goats can read", we decided to take the giant leap of buying meat goats and chickens to help supplement our normal food shopping. I mean really, with hamburger going over 3 bucks a pound and a dozen eggs topping out at 2 dollars , it only makes sense to try and be more self-sufficient in someway, why not meat and eggs? Our intentions were of course pure, provide for our family, reduce our monthly food costs, eat healthier, all good principles, principles worth exploring. So, first things first. As with any animal project, you should make sure you have shelter and a fenced in area, after all, these animals will be providing you with food, they should have proper homes. Everyone tried their hand at ideas for the new goat pen and chicken hutch and in a short amount of time we had enough designs to begin implementing our building plans. First though, we had to go pick up our does. We opted for a shelter built into an old chain link dog kennel that we had received from someone my husband knows.
Dog Kennel with built in shelter
Dale and the girls drove over by Cataldo to pick up our breeder does so that we could start our own little mini-farm. When they arrived home, they had the cutest little girl goats! They were very very upset about having to leave their previous life. The boys carried them into their new home and wow did they raise a ruckus! You would have thought we were killing them the way they were screaming, silly goats. The girls named them Claire Bear and Chloe.

Chloe is in the red and Claire is in the green
At this point we had already started the bigger pen for the wethers and the buck we would be picking up in the next couple weeks. Here are some pictures:
floor foundation
Joshua Helping
Hand mixed concrete pour
finished floor joist system

We finished the foundation and floor joists all in one day which in itself was a minor miracle as it hadn't stopped raining for at least a month. The ground was totally soggy, like an over full sponge that can't take anymore water..squish squish squish. A short side note for you: I don't know if you can tell or not, but my husband is a contractor....this goat barn is very very well built and will not be going anywhere, EVER. I think it would take a major earthquake to move this thing. Anyway we got enough of the goat barn done to be able to pick up the 3 wether goats and a baby buck for our breeding stock. I cant seem to find any pictures at the moment oh well.
We have been working on the goat barn/ chicken pen off and on for 2 months now.  The chickens are very happy running around the yard eating bugs and mice, and the goats stripped every branch they had in their pen. The baby chicks are still in a tub, being way to small to let out to roam right now, and all is well on our mini farm. The chicken coop part of the barn is in the process of being built and is moving right along. We painted the floor a white vinyl paint to make rinsing off easier.  At this moment we have 49 animals if you count the dog,  cats and horses, oh wait we have a turtle also, that makes 50!

Part 2 Coming soon...

Random thoughts......

This past week was a rough one. Usually I would have been helping out with our churches VBS program, but I was not feeling well and decided to wait till the end of the week to help. As I was sitting around in my very quiet home (all or most of the kids were helping out with VBS this week), I decided to read a book called the" Fruit Of Her Hands" by Nancy Wilson, its about respect and the Christian woman. I never thought I had a problem with respect, until I read this book. It was harsh ! Some of the things I have said and done have not been very respectful. This is a hard thing to find out. I think I knew some of it in the back of my mind, but had not made the connections between my dis-respect and the way my kids are dis-respectful. While reading the book I made some resolutions to practice respecting, in particular my husband. I also realized that my lack of respect was a direct result of my not trusting God. All this time, I was fairly certain that trusting God was not an issue for me, but it is. He either is who he says he is or he is not. I believe he is exactly who he claims to be, and that I CAN trust him with the issues in my life. This is almost always easier to say then to do. We show it everyday in different ways and in different areas of life. It reminds me of a poem I once read called Let Go and let God, because if we don't trust him how can we let go? I have been so angry with my husband over things that are big and small and it is ALL because I did not trust God ! Not only that, if I didn't trust God how in the world was I ever going to trust my husband the way I should???? The bible commands me to be respectful to my husband, regardless of whether I think he deserves it or not. This flies in the face of currant societal norms, and is very difficult when there is no trust. The point of all this is if you truly, truly trust God the way you should as a Christian, then respect will not be so difficult because you KNOW God is concerned with your everyday journey. You KNOW he is kind and compassionate. You CAN trust him with your marriage, husband, children, work, friends, your LIFE!! So, Let Go and Let God!

LET GO AND LET GOD!

As children bring their broken toys

with tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God,
because He was my friend.
But then, instead of leaving Him,
in peace, to work alone;
I hung around and tried to help,
with ways that were my own.
At last, I snatched them back and cried,
"How can you be so slow?"
"My child," He said,
"What could I do?
You never did let go."

It has been a year.....

Since it has been almost a year since I started this blog,  I thought I would do a short update on the projects I started and the ones I am still working on. I have been working on being more organized....... then I started watching a show called Hoarders, and realized my condition will only get worse. I can no longer just call myself a "collector" although I would love to be able to use this definition for my illness. Fortunately for me, I am not a hoarder yet. There is still hope. That being said, I spent several days cleaning and organizing my attic that I started this time last year, and it looks WAY better then it did, you can actually walk around up there now. There is still alot of work to do but it is a start and after watching the show I have been watching, Im even more motivated to get it done than I was before.
(Insert picture here...I was gonna put up a picture but decided against it.)

The other project I was/am working on were containers for seasonal clothes and kids things. Again, my intentions where good, but I lacked motivation. You know when you look around, have no idea where in the world to start, so you just give up? Thats me. The containers are a great idea but I have been using them as a catch all for everything else, which I suppose is okay, at least most of them have made it to the attic at this point, which I did mention is looking more organized every week. I still need to get to the ones in the boys room, which are under like a 2 foot pile of clean clothes. Did I mention my kids are stacker's like me? This does not bode well for their future spouses. Hopefully they wont marry someone like them or they will never be able to walk around their homes!

As with any good collector, we need to have several projects going all at once, and no one can accuse me of being a bad collector! At this time I have no fewer than 5 projects I have started, maybe even more, if you count the attic and the containers. But for now I am only going to mention 2 that I actually finished. Yes you heard me I FINISHED a project! Dont ask me how, but I did. The first one was a set of placements, and the second one was re-covering an old chair I bought at a yard sale. I also have 2 rag quilts in the process of being done..hopefully I will finish them this year!

Yes I know the picture is sideways...I cant figure out how to get it to go right side up..On the funny side of this everyone who looking at it has their head tilted to the right making everyone in the room wonder what in the world are they looking at.

The biggest thing that has happened this year, for me anyway, is the installation of a Iron filter and water softener. For the past 5 years we have been unable to drink the water, do laundry, use the dishwasher, have an icemaker, and any number of things I took for granted when I lived on the city water system. This past month we were able to get a grant to pay for the installation of the filters and in the space of 3 days I was able to do all the above things . Have you ever heard of someone being actually happy to be able to do laundry??? Just ask someone who has been doing it at a laundry mat for years, being able to do it at home is awesome! You can get up in the middle of the night and get a glass of water, from the faucet not a jug. My tubs and sinks will no longer look like someone has been bludgeoned in them! This is even better than when I got my dryer, which was pretty awesome in itself. It is truly a blessing from God!

Well thats it for this years update, I have alot more to do to become organized, and I will probably NEVER be as organized as most,  but at least now I have a little more motivation to do it. Oh, did I mention that after nearly 25 years of marriage I have finally started a weekly menu? My husband just about had a heart attack!

Sundays Rant

Today is Sunday, and I have decided this would be a perfect opportunity for a rant. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to rant about but it should be good. Lets start with the definition according to Wikipedia:
#1)rant is a speech or text that does not present a calm argument; rather, it is typically an enthusiastic speech or talk or lecture on an idea, a person or an institution. Compare with a dialectic.
#2)Rants can be based on partial fact or may be entirely factual but written in a comedic/satirical form.
#3)Rants can also be used in the defense of an individual, idea or organization. Rants of this type generally occur after the subject has been attacked by another individual or group.
For our purposes today, we will go with definition #2. Since I do not have a specific topic in mind and am feeling slightly weird, this definition will fit perfectly with this post.
Lets start with dryers, socks  and laundry. This past week I was fortunate enough to obtain the use of my brand new 8 month old dryer. I was totally excited about this as my previous dryer had broken and we had been hang drying our clothes. Have you ever used a towel that was hung dry?? Although this practice is more cost effective, it is definitely not more pleasant. I just told the kids if they wanted a little more loofah action to use a hung dry towel. I mean my goodness when I get out of the shower I would like a nice soft, fluffy towel not sand paper. I'm sure everyone feels the same way about this as I do. Anyway, I was saying my new dryer is awesome, its propane and energy star compliant ect ect, but the awesome thing about it is it DRYS! No more sandpaper towels, no more shirts that walk off the rack by themselves! Just wonderful soft, fluffy FOLD-ABLE clothes. I'm totally happy with my dryer.
New dryer, sideways, dunno know why

Now for socks. What is it, even with a new dryer, my socks are disappearing I just don't understand it. I have only dried about 20 loads and there is at least that many socks missing, still. I have determined that the culprit is the Sock Fairy. Oh I know you are saying to yourself, there cant be such a thing as a sock fairy but it is the only explanation I can find. The biggest disappointment in this is the sock fairy doesn't leave any money for the socks he takes. I mean jeesh if your gonna take the socks LEAVE SOMETHING! At least that way I can buy new socks to replace the ones he has confiscated.

On to, you guessed it , laundry. I had a friend post on Facebook about how their  laundry stack was as tall as a stool they had. I was like I have to use a stool to get to the top of mine. I just dont understand it, I did no less then 15 loads of laundry Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and I STILL have no less then 6 loads to get done. I said once I had to "get my laundry together" and a friend of mine told me I shouldn't do that because it breeds. I totally believe this as I have seen first hand the breeding habits of laundry. No matter what you do or how many loads you wash and put away, it is still an overwhelming, never-ending chore. I know throwing a load in is no big deal, but when you have to do it continually for 3 days straight and you only make a dent, there is something terribly wrong. I'm pretty sure we just have to many options in our closets, therefore it makes for oogles of clothing that can get dirty, although Im thinking the breeding theory seems to hold alot of weight at this point. Oh well, at least I have a washer and a brand new 8 month old dryer:)

My next rant will be on Sundays.  Almost every Sunday for the past 11 years we have attended the Fernwood Community Bible Church . When we first started there were 2 services and we went to late one because we had lots of little kiddies to get ready. The drawback for this is, we didn't get to meet or know any of the early service people, which was okay I suppose if you don't consider the church part of your family or only as a means to an end, you know like pew warmers, or just getting some fire insurance if you know what I mean.  We however have decided that the church body is part of our family and as such, wanted to try and establish relationships as much as possible. When we went down to one service, oh man, its was not a happy time for all those gotta have 2 services people. Just goes to show that Christians are sometimes totally unpleasable. I guess my rant on this is at people (church people in particular) who just cant seem to get a grip. What does it matter if we have one service?? And for goodness sakes why in the world does it matter if we meet at 9 or 10 or whatever time we picked. As long as your going and fellowshipping it should not matter what time the service is. Sunday is Family day for us, and we choose to spend it mainly with our Church Family which, my goodness people,  is only like till 12:00 noon. Now I know some of you out there may get offended thats okay it just means that you know I am speaking the truth. It does not matter what time you decide to go to church on Sunday, it really really doesn't. What really matters is if you choose not to go at all simply because you can not abide the time or that there is one service or its to long or whatever reason you may use not to go.
Alrighty then, I am finished ranting for the day. It sure does help to be able to get some of this off my chest while I'm thinking about it. Its been a pretty good day and I'm excited about the week to come, doing my taxes, oh yippee! Thats a whole other blog post though, so will let you know how that one goes.
God Bless
